Notre Dame's Library

Notre Dame’s Library

On the home page:

                “Quick Links” – “Subjects A to Z”

Three catalogs of books, journals, and other library materials owned or accessed by Notre Dame:

“Catalog Classic (ND Catalog)”: allows the most flexibility in searching

“NDCatalog”: provides special features such as relevancy ranking

“OneSearch”: includes various periodical databases, so searches may produce huge results of cited books and articles

Subject librarians:

                Tracy Bergstrom for Italian literature

David Dressing for Latin American, Spanish, and Portuguese literatures

Laura Fuderer for English and French literatures

Keyword searching:

Using carefully selected words (often combined with the Boolean operators “and,” “or,” or “not”) to retrieve information either from a citation database such as an index to journal articles or from a “full-text” database that contains the complete text of thousands of books or journal articles.
