You have a general idea of the topic you would like to explore, so try exploring a little to get some feel for what is already there in books, articles etc.

Begin with very general search terms, e.g. "humor Sheridan Rivals" or "satire Rackrent". If you don't find anything, make your search even broader, searching for general critical works on either the literature or on the subjects of humor, comedy and satire in literature and theatre.
