RTE Libraries and Archives

The libraries and archives of RTÉ, Ireland's national broadcaster, have mounted a number of digital exhibits in the Look and Listen section of the RTE website.  These include digitized video clips, sound clips and photographs.
 
History exhibits incude  First Dáil Éireann 1919, Ireland and the Great WarCivil Rights Movement 1968-69, Northern Ireland 1969, and Cuimhneachán 1916 -- Golden Jubilee Anniversary of 1916.

The following exhibits should interest students of literature: Seamus Heaney, Peig Sayers, Patrick Kavanagh and Brendan Behan.

 

Irish Newspaper Archives

The Irish Newspaper Archives is a growing online archive of digital images of newspapers, both historic and current.  Historical newspapers include the Freeman's Journal (though quite incomplete), 1763-1924 and the Anglo-Celt, 1846-2010.
